Directions, parking, public transport, and lost property
Classes at Lower Close Studios, Dartington Hall
Occasionally, we use Studio 6, and this will be the case for our next dance, on 29/11. This is spacious and light (see picture below), behind Space Gym reception (see picture above), just a few rooms away from Studio 3.
Almost all sessions are in the attractive and spacious Studio 3, Lower Close Studios, Dartington Hall Estate, with its professional sound studio acoustics. It's warm, spacious, and uncluttered.

Nearest car park - Space Gym parking
Often there's spaces in the Space Gym / studio car park. There's no charge during class time, afterwards please vacate.
It's signposted from the road. What3words location: objecting.insist.passing (entrance, see next picture).
To now find Lower Close, go back onto the road and walk uphill, take the second left. Then see the Studio directions section below.
Main Estate car park - 5 minutes walk
The main car park is just below the Green Table Café, 5 minutes walk to our studio (see next picture). Charges apply every day 9am-6pm - £3.50 for 3 hours (last checked Nov 2025). What3words location: salaried.streetcar.crystals (entrance).
To now find Lower Close, follow the black Space Gym signs. This means heading downhill from the main car park entrance until you get to the second right. Then see the Studio directions section below.
Directions to the studio from Lower Close gates
If you followed the directions above from whichever car park you used, you'll be at the Lower Close gates (usually open), with a black direction sign saying Lower Close Studios just to the left.
Go up this road, keeping straight ahead and go through the big doors into main reception (see next picture). There'll be Biodanza direction signs to help.
Walking or cycling from Totnes or Dartington
Walking or cycling are lovely ways to arrive at class - it's uphill but very picturesque, especially if it’s not heavy raining (good luck).
From Totnes, you'll get to the turning shown above before the main car park. From Dartington you'll come to the main car park before the studio. There's various places for locking bikes.
Public transport
Bus 165, from Totnes to Dartington Hall (also to Dartington village, Staverton and Broadhempston), runs at least every 2 hours, including on Saturdays. It stops just opposite the main car park (directions above).
